Sheba from Pets As Therapy Read 2 Dogs Scheme Visits Lorraine
The children at Lorraine were very excited to welcome Sheba from the Pets As Therapy Read 2 Dogs Scheme on Friday last week for her first visit.
They were able to choose a story from the library to read to Sheba, who I think you'll agree, looked quite at home. There are many benefits to having a PAT dog in school, from increased school attendance, gains in confidence, decreased learner anxiety, enhanced relationships with peers and teachers and development of social skills to name a few.
The children are looking forward to Sheba's next visit to Lorraine, with sessions at Pine Ridge commencing soon. We hope lots of children will benefit from meeting and reading with her during the Summer term.
