School Council
The School Council is an important part of our school community, bringing together students from Reception to Year 2 to share their ideas and help make our school an even better place. Working closely with our Teachers, the council members discuss and suggest ways to improve school life, from activities to resources, ensuring every voice is heard. They then share their thoughts and feedback with Mrs Ney, our Headteacher, helping to shape decisions and create positive changes for all. The School Council encourages teamwork, responsibility, and leadership, giving our younger students a chance to be active participants in shaping their school environment.
Impact of the School Council:
This year, the School Council has been at the forefront of a range of exciting and impactful initiatives, working hard to create meaningful experiences for our students.
- The children played a vital role in shaping the new house teams - 'Earth, Fire, Water, and Air’ by gathering ideas and ensuring the names reflected the qualities each element represents.
- The School Council also took the lead in organising a very successful whole-school Christmas Disco, which brought everyone together to celebrate the festive season.
- Another highlight was the selection of winners for the NSPCC Number Day event, where students showcased their creativity and enthusiasm for a very important charity.
With many exciting plans still to come, we encourage everyone to keep an eye out for upcoming events led by the School Council!
Previous Events
A standout moment was when the School Council had the chance to meet with Michael Gove to discuss the future of our school. It was an amazing opportunity for our children to have their voices heard at the highest level.
In addition to this, the School Council continues to inspire with their efforts to improve our school community. To mark the Queen’s Jubilee, students planted trees on both school sites as a lasting tribute to this historic event. They also helped launch the King Charles II vegetable patch, promoting sustainability and hands-on learning. The Lorraine Allotment was dedicated to Mr. Ludkin, who has worked tirelessly to engage children in gardening and growing plants.
