Fantastic Start at Forest School for Year 1 at Pine Ridge!

The children in Maple Class are attending Forest School this term and have had a fantastic start with some very exciting activities.

The children have been creating their own tree faces.  To make the features they used clay and things they found in the woodland, these included sweet chestnut cases for eyes (they needed very careful handing!), acorns and a variety of sticks.  Others have been making potions, chasing “giants”, climbing trees and learning how to light the fire safely.

This week we made our own natural entrance curtain for Forest School out of leaves - so we now have a dramatic entrance to our fire circle.
