Camberley Fire Station Visit Year R at Pine Ridge and Lorraine!
This week, the children in our Reception classes had a very special visit from the firefighters at Camberley Fire Station. The children met the firefighters and had the opportunity to learn about the role of a firefighter, their fire engine and all of the specialised equipment they use when putting out fires or attending incidents.
They learnt that the firefighters have 45 seconds to get into their kit when the alarm sounds at the fire station. Mrs Robinson and Mrs Howell both took on the challenge which the children found very amusing! The children then went outside to the fire engine where they were shown the equipment that is on board including the 'Jaws of Life', several large hoses, a huge first aid kit and other equipment used to recue people who are in need of help. The children also saw the flashing lights in action.
We would like to thank Camberley Fire Station for visiting our schools.
