Robins and Holly Class Visit Little Street Children's Role Play Town
This half term, the children in Robins and Holly Class have been looking at our local community. The children have explored people who work in the daytime and people who work at nighttime. Both classes had an exciting trip to Little Street Children's Role Play Town! It was a great opportunity for the children to use their imaginations in lots of different role play situations; everything from shopping, to emergency workers, vets to superheroes. Little Street is a scaled down version of a typical town, inspiring children to explore life in the world around them. The children were able to explore the different job roles within the town to prepare them for their end of half term project where they will work together to build a structure for their 'mini me' to work in.
It was lovely to see the children use different resources, props and costumes to fully immerse themselves in to a variety of different roles. Having this hands on experience developed the children's understanding of people who help us, what their roles involve and who we know in our local community with these roles. The children not only had the chance to develop their storytelling but continue to build on their oracy skills. The children had a wonderful trip and are already looking forward to their next one.
As you can see from the pictures, they all had a fantastic time!
