Celebrating Children's Mental Health Week at PRL
This week, we have been celebrating Children’s Mental Health Week with workshops across both schools from Nursery to Year 2.
Our drama workshops focused on identifying how we might be feeling and how we can start to understand ourselves better. We then looked at lots of ways we can help ourselves feel calm or get rid of nerves. From press ups, stretching, drawing, counting to breathing, we all found a method that works for us.
The children have enjoyed the PSHE workshop and their new emotions station where they can express their emotions and select strategies to regulate.
“I always feel happy when I have dinosaur shaped pasta.”
“I liked doing tense and release as it made my chest feel better.”
“I liked drawing more than moving, I felt calmer.”
“I liked press ups because my body told me I needed to move.”
