Jackson Pollock Inspires Oak Class
This half term, Oak Class have taken their inspiration from Jackson Pollock, a famous American painter, by using several different techniques to create their own unique pictures. Jackson Pollock was famous for pouring and splashing liquid onto a horizontal surface to create abstract art and whose paintings are among some of the most expensive ever sold.
The children had fun rolling marbles in paint across the paper and then tried several different techniques including flicking, spraying and using straws to blow the paint across the page. They also tried dipping their brushes in the paint and letting the blobs drip down which created some fantastic results.
Who knows... maybe one day these paintings will be worth millions too!
