GLF Schools was founded in 2012 in order to enable the federation of Glyn School (an academy in 2011) and Danetree Junior School. Together, we began our journey to become a MAT of more than 1000 talented staff working with over 10,000 children in 40 schools across 5 regions in southern England.

Plaque unveiled at Lorraine Infant School in honour of Free French Forces Camp

On Saturday 11th November 2023, the Mayor of Surrey Heath Borough Council, Michael Gove and an Attache from the French Embassy unveiled two blue plaques, one at the Beacon Church and one at Lorraine Infant School, in honour of the Free French Forces camps that were based on these sites at the end of World War II.

On the day, a number of children represented our schools and performed a chorus in honour of the Free French Forces.  To mark the occasion further, assemblies took place across Pine Ridge and Lorraine Schools and the children entered a colouring competition to design a cross for the Free French Forces flag.
