Fantastic Start to a New Academic Year in our Nurseries
Lorraine Nursery
The children in Carle Class have settled in very well and have been exploring the nursery environment. The teachers are learning the children’s likes and dislikes as the children begin to form relationships with them and other peers and the children are learning the nursery routines.
The children in Murphy Class have been enjoying the construction area and toys. This week, we had a new big digger arrive and the children are showing great skills in learning how to operate it and take turns to use it.
Pine Ridge Nursery
We are so proud of how well our children have settled into Donaldson Class. They have spent time exploring their new environment and making new discoveries. We have really enjoyed exploring our new mud kitchen. We went on an Autumn walk and used chestnuts and acorns as ingredients. We have been learning about who we are and the things we like and don’t like.
This week, we tried different fruits (mango, pineapple and peach). It was interesting to learn which ones we liked the best and which ones we didn’t like at all. We have also been drawing around our body parts, naming different parts of our body, including ankles, spine, forehead and knuckles!
Campbell Class have settled so incredibly well and are making excellent connections with their teachers and their friends. We have enjoyed exploring our new environment and using all the learning areas.
We have been learning about our bodies. We have been singing ‘Head, shoulders, knees and toes’ and we are able to name many parts of our body. We have had fun making faces on Mr Potato Head!
