Year 2's excellent start to the new Academic Year!
Gravett Class have settled in so well to Year 2 and we are so proud of the learning they have already achieved. The children have worked hard to develop their handwriting and present their work beautifully. They have also produced some amazing writing including capital letters, full stops, finger spaces, adjectives and conjunctions. In maths, the children have worked extremely hard to solve addition and subtraction sums.
In our wider curriculum lessons, Gravett Class have looked at a variety of materials and researched different climates across the world. The children then designed a coat for a travelling bear and we are starting to sew the coats this week. We can’t wait to share the final products with you at the curriculum showcase!
Milway Class have also made a brilliant start to Year 2 and we are so proud of all their hard work and enthusiasm for learning. The children have been working hard on their handwriting and are presenting their work with great care. In English, they have been writing fantastic sentences using capital letters, full stops, finger spaces, adjectives, and conjunctions.
In maths, the children have been busy solving addition and subtraction problems and have shown great perseverance and teamwork.
As part of our wider curriculum, Milway Class explored a variety of materials and researched climates from around the world. Using what they learned, the children designed a coat for a travelling bear. We’ve now nearly finished sewing our coats - everyone has had a go at practising their stitching and we've started using a running stitch to join the pieces together. We’re really looking forward to sharing the finished coats at the curriculum showcase!
