Exploring Nature: Discovering Living and Non-Living Things
The children enjoyed a lovely nature walk where they explored and discussed what is living and non-living and why. They learned that living things need a range of things to grow and stay healthy, such as water, light, air and nourishment. Through observing plants in their natural environment and sharing the story Jasper’s Beanstalk, the children learned about how plants change and grow over time. They explored the main features of a plant, including the roots, stem, leaves and flower, and began germinating their own bean, developing an understanding of how we can care for living things and help them grow.
